Volta youth attracted to Bawumia’s vision for Ghana – Kofi Tontoh

Kofi Tontoh, political aide to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), expressed excitement over the warm reception the campaign team received during their recent tour of the Volta Region. Tontoh emphasized that the enthusiastic support from residents is evidence of the NPP’s growing acceptance in a region traditionally dominated by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

In an interview on Citi FM’s Eyewitness News, Tontoh highlighted the NPP’s improved voter share in the Volta Region, crediting Bawumia’s vision and policies for the growing support. He described the campaign’s reception as spontaneous and organic, with many people eagerly coming out to support the team.

Tontoh also alleged that the NDC attempted to suppress support for Bawumia by conducting door-to-door campaigns to discourage residents from meeting the NPP team. He noted that despite these efforts, the NPP continued to receive a positive response, particularly from the youth.

Responding to allegations that the NPP had paid individuals to show support, Tontoh strongly denied the claims, calling them baseless and unrealistic. He reiterated that Bawumia’s appeal lies in his ideas and policies, which resonate with the youth and broader population in the region.
