
The United Nations (UN) has expressed profound appreciation to Former President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for what it terms his contribution to Ghana’s peace, democracy and development.
The United Nations Resident Coordinator in Ghana, His Excellency Charles Abani together with a delegation paid a courtesy visit to Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia at his residence on Tuesday, February 4.

Delivering a message on behalf of the UN, H.E. Abani lauded Dr Bawumia for his timely decision to concede defeat during the 2024 general election.

He highlighted the former president’s vision and initiatives for Ghana’s digital economic transformation.

Dr Bawumia on his part reiterated his conviction that politicians must prioritise national interest over personal ambition.

He further expressed gratitude to the UN for what he defines as their ‘kind words’ and support for Ghana’s progress.
