The OSP has listed a series of investigations that Mr. Ofori-Atta is required to answer to, including:
- The Strategic Mobilisation-GRA contract
- The termination of the ECG-BXC contract
- Payments related to the National Cathedral
- The Ambulance Procurement contract
The OSP has noted that Mr. Ofori-Atta may be residing in the United States or the United Kingdom, as these countries are identified as potential locations where he might be located.
At a press briefing on February 12, Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng declared that Ofori-Atta must return to Ghana immediately to face questioning. He also issued a stern warning that failure to comply would lead to actions being taken to compel his return.
Despite his lawyers claiming that Ofori-Atta is receiving medical treatment abroad, Agyebeng emphasized the urgency of his return.
Controversy Surrounding the Raid
The OSP’s actions have sparked controversy, particularly after Kissi Agyebeng described a raid on Ofori-Atta’s home in Cantonments as staged, which has led to widespread public condemnation.
The wanted notice underscores the OSP’s commitment to holding high-profile figures accountable for corruption-related offenses, as part of its broader effort to tackle corruption in Ghana’s public sector.
