Parliament Begins Vetting of President Mahama’s Deputy Minister Nominees

The Appointments Committee of Parliament is set to commence public hearings today to vet President John Mahama’s nominees for various ministerial positions. The hearings, scheduled from Monday, February 24, to Thursday, February 27, will take place at Committee Rooms 1 and 2 of the Administration Block, starting at 9:30 a.m. daily.
President Mahama has nominated 13 deputy ministers to support key ministries, aiming to strengthen governance, fulfill national commitments, and drive economic growth. Additionally, Lydia Lamisi Akanvariba has been nominated as Minister of State in charge of Public Sector Reforms.
Presidential spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu emphasized that the nominees were selected based on their expertise, dedication, and alignment with the administration’s vision.
“President Mahama is confident that these individuals will bring fresh perspectives and renewed energy to their respective ministries,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Lydia Lamisi Akanvariba’s appointment as Minister of State for Public Sector Reforms is expected to enhance government operations and improve service delivery across various agencies.
The vetting process will allow Parliament and the public to scrutinize the nominees’ qualifications, experience, and vision for their respective roles. If approved, the appointees will play crucial roles in implementing government policies and achieving the administration’s goals.
