Archbishop Duncan-Williams Urges Mahama to Lead Bold Economic and National Transformation

Renowned Ghanaian clergyman and Founder of Action Chapel International, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, has issued a passionate appeal to President John Dramani Mahama to spearhead a bold transformation agenda that strengthens the economy and unites the nation around a long-term vision.
Speaking at the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at the State House in Accra, Archbishop Duncan-Williams called on President Mahama to seize the opportunity of his return to power to make a lasting impact on the country’s development trajectory.
“Mr President, within three years, make a difference. Impact this world and change the narrative of Ghana. Let the Cedi thrive under your leadership. Let the Cedi flourish under your leadership and let things get better and better under your leadership like never before,” he declared, drawing resounding applause from the audience.
Call for a National Development Agenda
Archbishop Duncan-Williams emphasized the urgent need for Ghana to adopt a comprehensive, long-term national agenda—similar to the 100-year development visions of countries like China, India, and the UAE—to ensure progress beyond political regimes.
“Ghana, our motherland, is where our vision and agenda are. Under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama, a national agenda will be established to compel all stakeholders to follow that agenda,” he asserted.
Unity, Patriotism, and Faith
In his sermon, the Archbishop urged Ghanaians to embrace patriotism, love for God, and national unity, warning that political divisions threaten the country’s future.
“We need to develop a strong love for God. Also, love the country and the love for Ghana,” he stated, underscoring that Ghana’s progress depends on unity beyond partisan lines.
A Moment of Reflection and Hope
The National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving, held under the theme of thanksgiving and hope, brought together political leaders, religious figures, and civil society groups to intercede for Ghana’s peace, prosperity, and spiritual direction.
Archbishop Duncan-Williams’ message resonated as both a spiritual charge and a national call to action—urging leadership to pursue transformative policies with integrity, foresight, and a collective sense of purpose.
