A Plus pledges lasting loyalty to NDC, praises Mahama’s leadership

Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, has publicly affirmed his commitment to the National Democratic Congress (NDC), indicating a long-term alignment with the party and its vision for Ghana.

Speaking during an appearance on Upside Down on Channel One TV on Sunday, May 4, the outspoken musician-turned-politician and Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central said he is enjoying his association with the NDC majority and has no plans of leaving.

“I am with the majority”

“I am a member of the NDC. I have never inherited enemies. For now, I am enjoying my time with the majority. I see myself being a member of the majority for a very long time,” A Plus stated.

He pushed back against critics who question his political affiliation on the basis of party documentation, saying loyalty should be measured by actions rather than a party card.

“If I say I am a member of the NDC, they would say I don’t have a party card, but I am with the majority,” he stressed.

A Plus also used the opportunity to shower praise on former President John Dramani Mahama, who is leading the NDC into the 2024 general elections, describing him as a leader with vision and integrity.

“I believe that they have an amazing leader and a great guy. He has good intentions for this country,” he remarked.

The declaration by A Plus, a once-fierce critic of both major political parties, adds momentum to the NDC’s efforts to galvanize public support as the 2024 elections approach.
