Rev. Ebenezer Ekow Aidoo Unanimously Confirmed as Asante Akyem Central MCE

Konongo, May 21, 2025 – The Municipal Assembly of Asante Akyem Central has unanimously confirmed Rev. Ebenezer Ekow Aidoo as the new Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), following a vote of approval by all 35 Assembly members.

The confirmation, held on Monday, saw Rev. Aidoo receive 100% endorsement, marking a strong show of unity and confidence in his leadership.

A Message of Gratitude and Unity

Speaking to Adom News after the confirmation, Rev. Aidoo expressed profound gratitude to the people of the municipality and pledged to lead an open and inclusive administration.

“I am committed to working hand in hand with our Member of Parliament, Assembly members, traditional leaders, and residents to bring meaningful progress to our municipality,” he said.

He emphasized the importance of stakeholder input in shaping the development agenda for Asante Akyem Central and reaffirmed his dedication to public service.

From Parliamentary Candidate to MCE

Rev. Aidoo, who contested as the NDC parliamentary candidate in the 2024 general elections, now assumes a crucial leadership role at the municipal level. His nomination and subsequent endorsement reflect growing trust in his ability to steer the municipality toward development and unity.

Meanwhile, Asante Akyem Central NDC Constituency Chairman, Sumaila Ibrahim, praised the Assembly members and government appointees for their overwhelming support and cooperation throughout the confirmation process.

“This level of unity and consensus is a testament to our shared commitment to progress and stability in the municipality,” he noted.

Rev. Aidoo is expected to officially assume office in the coming days and begin consultations with stakeholders on his developmental priorities.
