The accident involved a Toyota Hiace minibus with registration number GT 5160-17, which was traveling from Ashaiman to Koforidua.

According to an eyewitness account, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and land in a bush on the shoulder. The incident happened amid persistent rainfall, which likely contributed to poor visibility and slippery road conditions.

Minister Assists in Rescue Efforts

Minister Awatey used the opportunity to caution drivers, especially during the rainy season, to adhere strictly to road safety regulations to avoid preventable accidents.
“The rains are here, and roads are becoming more dangerous. Let’s all take personal responsibility for our safety on the road,” she stated.
Ongoing Investigation
Police officers were dispatched to the scene, and investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the accident. The vehicle has since been towed, and traffic on the stretch has returned to normal.
