Mahama Embarks on State Visit to Singapore to Boost Trade and Innovation Partnerships
President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Singapore for a three-day state visit, focused on deepening bilateral cooperation and expanding opportunities in trade, investment, and innovation-driven sectors.
The visit will see President Mahama hold bilateral talks with Singapore’s President, Tharman Shanmugaratnam, and Prime Minister, Lawrence Wong, with discussions expected to center on education, science and technology, urban solutions, agribusiness, and the digital economy.
In a Facebook post, President Mahama highlighted the shared vision underpinning the partnership.
“Ghana and Singapore share a forward-looking outlook anchored in innovation, skills, and enterprise. This visit will translate our shared values into practical cooperation—bringing Singaporean investment and know-how into Ghana’s priority sectors while opening new pathways for Ghanaian businesses across Southeast Asia.”
As part of the visit, President Mahama will deliver the keynote address at the 8th Africa–Singapore Business Forum (ASBF) and headline a Ghana country-specific Investment and Business Forum, which will convene leading public- and private-sector stakeholders to unlock new investment opportunities.
Speaking on arrival, he reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to leveraging the partnership to drive economic transformation.
“This visit will translate our shared values into practical cooperation, bringing Singaporean investment and know-how into Ghana’s priority sectors while opening new pathways for Ghanaian businesses across Southeast Asia,” he stated.
The state visit underscores Ghana’s strategy of fostering global partnerships to advance its growth agenda, while positioning the country as a gateway for Asian investment into Africa.
