Presidential candidate and leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Kofi Akpaloo, has allegedly been picked up by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), Citi News has confirmed.
Family sources revealed that Mr. Akpaloo was taken from his residence in Kumasi, though the reasons for his detention remain unclear. They added that his current whereabouts are unknown.
EOCO has not yet released an official statement, leaving the circumstances surrounding the arrest uncertain.
Mr. Akpaloo, who contested in the 2024 general elections, is a familiar face in Ghanaian politics. Known for policies aimed at attracting younger voters, he has gradually raised the profile of his party despite its relatively small size.
