EOCO Questions Shatta Wale’s Ownership of Lamborghini Urus

The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has revealed that popular Ghanaian musician Charles Nii Armah Mensah, widely known as Shatta Wale, has been unable to provide credible evidence of ownership or lawful acquisition of a Lamborghini Urus vehicle in his possession.

In an official statement issued on Thursday, August 21, EOCO disclosed that Shatta Wale claimed he purchased the luxury vehicle from “the Street,” stating that the seller might be someone called “ZAK,” who allegedly contacted him via WhatsApp.

However, the artiste admitted that he neither knows the true identity of the individual nor has the WhatsApp contact used in the transaction.

EOCO further noted that Shatta Wale failed to provide any formal documentation—such as a sales receipt or transfer papers—proving ownership of the vehicle. The only record available is a customs declaration form, which bears the name of Nana Kwabena Amuah, an individual currently serving a jail sentence.

Meanwhile, scores of Shatta Wale’s fans thronged EOCO’s offices demanding his release.

The artiste was granted bail set at GHS10 million with two sureties after being detained over matters linked to tax compliance. EOCO officials confirmed that his release remains subject to meeting all legal requirements.

In a video update, Shatta Wale’s media manager, Samuel Atuobi Baah, popularly known as Sammy Flex, assured supporters that the musician’s legal team and management are working tirelessly to secure his release.
