Energy Minister Inspects Maintenance Works at Atuabo Gas Processing Plant

The Minister of Energy and Green Transition, John Jinapor, has undertaken a working visit to the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant in the Western Region to monitor ongoing maintenance works.
During the inspection, the Minister expressed satisfaction with the progress of the project, commending engineers and technical staff for their commitment. He encouraged them to sustain the pace of work to ensure timely completion.
The Atuabo Gas Infrastructure Project, a key pillar of Ghana’s energy sector, is currently undergoing a planned shutdown aimed at improving production efficiency and expanding processing capacity. Once completed, the plant’s daily output is expected to increase from 100 million standard cubic feet (mmscf) to 120 million mmscf.
Minister Jinapor reaffirmed government’s commitment, stressing that both President John Dramani Mahama and the Ministry are fully behind the project. He emphasized the plant’s role in strengthening energy security and supporting industrial growth.
Officials added that the upgrade marks a significant step toward meeting Ghana’s rising demand for natural gas and providing a more reliable energy supply for households and industries.
