MP urges government to complete abandoned Agenda 111 projects in Diaso

The Member of Parliament for Upper Denkyira West, Rudolf Amoako-Gyampa, has appealed to the government and the Ministry of Health to urgently resume work on the abandoned Agenda 111 projects in Diaso.

The projects, started under the previous NPP administration, are estimated to be about 45% complete but were left unattended before the 2024 general election. Since then, the sites have become overgrown with weeds, with no security presence, sparking concerns about the safety of materials and the integrity of the structures.

Mr. Amoako-Gyampa said the neglect of the projects has worsened access to healthcare in the constituency, forcing residents to travel long distances for medical treatment, sometimes with dire consequences.

“The people of Upper Denkyira West are suffering. The delay in completing this project has serious consequences for healthcare delivery in the constituency,” he lamented.

He stressed the need for continuity in governance, urging authorities to put aside partisan considerations and prioritize the completion of critical infrastructure.

“Regardless of political transitions, it is vital that development projects are completed. That is the only way state resources can be put to good use,” he said.

The MP further noted that completing the Diaso hospital under Agenda 111 would significantly improve healthcare delivery and provide residents with essential services.
