Eno Barony and DopeNation emerged as Ghana’s winners at the 2026 AFRIMMA Awards, collecting international honours at a ceremony in Dallas, Texas, on September 12, 2026.
Eno Barony was named Best Female Rap Act, while DopeNation claimed Best African Group, giving Ghana two victories at the continental awards.
Barony defeated a strong field that included Tanzania’s Rosa Ree, Zambia’s Bombshell Grenade, Ghana’s Freda Rhymz, South Africa’s Moozlie, Kenya’s Ssaru, Mali’s Ami Yerewolo and Nigeria’s Candy Bleakz.
The award represents a return to the top of the category for Barony, who also won Best Female Rap Act at the 2020 AFRIMMA Awards. Her latest success adds to an established record at the ceremony and further recognises her position in African rap.
DopeNation’s victory provides the Ghanaian duo with another major international accolade. AFRIMMA’s official results list them among the winners of the 2026 edition.
The ceremony marked AFRIMMA’s return after a two-year break. The 2026 event also included a music festival alongside the awards programme, with Dallas hosting an expanded celebration of African music and culture on an international platform.
Ghana had 21 nominations at this year’s awards, with Black Sherif among the country’s leading nominees. The final results confirmed Barony and DopeNation as two of Ghana’s winners.
Their successes strengthened Ghana’s presence at an event that celebrates musical talent from across Africa and the diaspora, while recognising Barony for her rap artistry and DopeNation among the continent’s leading groups.
