The Ghanaian Christian community has been thrown into mourning following the death of Rev. Dr. Martin Ampomah, a respected clergyman and church administrator whose years of service spanned several important Christian institutions in Ghana.
Rev. Dr. Ampomah passed away in the early hours of Saturday, October 10, 2026, at the Emergency Ward of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi, according to an official announcement by the leadership of Harvesters Evangelistic Ministry and Faith Convention.
In the statement announcing his passing, the Executive Board Chairman of the Faith Convention Secretariat, Kumasi, said the leadership received the news with profound sadness but remained steadfast in the Christian faith in the resurrection.
The church described his departure as a “promotion to glory,” reflecting the Christian belief in eternal life after death.
Rev. Dr. Martin Ampomah was recognised as a dedicated servant of God whose ministry extended beyond pastoral responsibilities into church administration, governance and institutional leadership.
He served as Past Chairman of Harvesters Evangelistic Ministry, contributing to the leadership and administration of the organisation.
He was also the First Administrator and an Executive Board Member of Faith Convention, making him an important figure in the establishment and development of the organisation’s administrative structures.
His service extended to Christ Apostolic Church International (CACI), where he served as a Past Administrator.
He also served as a Past National Executive Member of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), giving him a role in the wider Pentecostal and charismatic Christian community in Ghana.
His involvement in these organisations reflected a career dedicated not only to preaching and ministry but also to the effective administration and governance of Christian institutions.
Rev. Dr. Ampomah was particularly respected for his integrity, wisdom and administrative excellence, qualities highlighted by the leadership of Harvesters Evangelistic Ministry and Faith Convention in their announcement.
His work illustrates the important role church administrators play in supporting the growth and effective functioning of religious institutions.
