Bisa Kdei has urged aspiring artistes to recognise that talent by itself is not enough to build a lasting career, saying success also depends on sound management, honest advice and sensible business decisions.
Speaking on Atinka FM on November 3, 2026, the musician said emerging performers should surround themselves with people they can trust, manage their finances carefully and plan for long-term stability.
He advised artistes to seek guidance from individuals who will offer honest feedback, point out their weaknesses and help them improve professionally. A strong support system, he said, should be based on people who genuinely want to see an artiste develop rather than advisers who simply agree with every decision.
Bisa Kdei said a musician did not need a large management team to succeed. In his view, a small group of reliable people who believe in an artiste’s vision can be more useful than a bigger team unwilling to provide truthful advice.
The musician also encouraged upcoming performers to create additional sources of income while their careers were progressing. He warned them not to rely entirely on music earnings, public recognition or the attention that comes with fame.
Fame, he said, was temporary, and artistes needed to prepare for a time when their popularity and income might fall. Building other income streams and maintaining financial discipline could help provide security during more difficult periods.
Bisa Kdei further criticised extravagant spending motivated by the desire to impress other people. He advised artistes to make financial choices according to their own priorities and future needs instead of public expectations.
Reflecting on the difficulties he faced before achieving success, he said those experiences had taught him to concentrate on his ambitions rather than seeking approval or validation from others.
His advice focused on the need for artistes to think beyond immediate success and protect their careers through careful planning. Alongside musical ability, he identified trusted management, practical financial decisions and preparation for changing circumstances as important parts of building a sustainable career.
