The breakdown of the relationship between Ghanaian music star Fancy Gadam and his former partner Jamila, popularly known as Queen Meela, has taken another dramatic turn, with New Patriotic Party (NPP) Third National Vice Chairman Alhaji Osman Masawudu, popularly known as Chairman Buga, publicly rejecting claims that he broke up the couple before marrying Queen Meela.
The senior NPP executive has dismissed widespread social media allegations that he “snatched” Fancy Gadam’s former partner, insisting that the musician’s relationship with Queen Meela had already ended long before he entered the picture.
Speaking in an interview, Chairman Buga said he followed the appropriate traditional and legal marriage procedures and did not interfere in the former couple’s relationship.
According to him, by the time he met Queen Meela, she and Fancy Gadam had already publicly separated.
“I did not take anybody’s wife. They had already gone their separate ways before I met her,” he explained, adding that he met Queen Meela approximately two months before they got married.
The politician said suggestions that he caused the collapse of the relationship were false and intended to create unnecessary controversy around his marriage.
Chairman Buga Buga also disclosed that he has no personal dispute with Fancy Gadam and bears no ill feelings towards the award-winning Tamale-based musician.
According to him, he has only met Fancy Gadam once in Accra and has never had any misunderstanding or confrontation with him.
The clarification comes amid intense public discussion following confirmation that Chairman Buga had married Queen Meela after the end of her relationship with Fancy Gadam.
The marriage immediately sparked speculation on social media, with some users accusing the NPP executive of taking the musician’s former partner shortly after their breakup.
However, Chairman Buga insists the timeline being circulated online is inaccurate, maintaining that the relationship between Fancy Gadam and Queen Meela had already ended before he became involved.
The latest development comes just days after Queen Meela herself publicly broke her silence about her separation from Fancy Gadam.
In a video circulating on social media, Queen Meela expressed disappointment over what she described as Fancy Gadam’s conduct after their breakup.
Although she acknowledged that the musician had publicly described their separation as amicable, she claimed his subsequent actions contradicted that message.
“When he came online to say we were no more, he said we are not enemies because we have a child. Yes, me, I will never see him as an enemy because he’s my child’s father,” she stated.
Despite maintaining that she still respects Fancy Gadam as the father of their child, Queen Meela alleged that the musician has been reposting social media content from individuals who insult and attack her online.
According to her, those alleged actions have been painful considering the years they spent together and the sacrifices she believes she made during their relationship.
She, however, declined to disclose details about their private life, insisting she has no intention of turning their separation into a public spectacle.
“I’m not coming to talk about what I have done or what I have not done. I don’t have time for that,” she said.
Queen Meela further appealed for restraint, indicating that despite her disappointment, she prefers to preserve a respectful co-parenting relationship for the sake of their child.
Earlier, Fancy Gadam had confirmed that he and Queen Meela had ended their relationship, describing the separation as mutual and peaceful.
The musician assured fans that despite going their separate ways, they remained committed to raising their child together and would not become enemies because of the breakup.
However, Queen Meela’s latest allegations suggest lingering tensions remain between the former couple despite their earlier public assurances.
Meanwhile, Chairman Buga Buga’s intervention appears aimed at distancing himself from the controversy, insisting his marriage to Queen Meela only began after the relationship with Fancy Gadam had officially ended.
