Man Arrested in Connection with Fatal E-Bike Hit-and-Run in Derbyshire
A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following a fatal hit-and-run incident in Pleasley, Derbyshire, where 25-year-old Alana Armstrong tragically lost her life. The incident occurred on the evening of 26 November when a 4×4 vehicle pursued and struck an e-bike carrying Ms. Armstrong and a male rider. While Ms. Armstrong succumbed to her injuries at the scene, the rider, a man in his 20s, was hospitalized and underwent surgery resulting in the amputation of his leg below the knee.
Derbyshire Police apprehended the suspect in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, early on Tuesday. Investigators have also recovered the vehicle involved in the incident—a blue Land Rover Discovery—which is currently undergoing forensic examination. Previously, a woman in her 30s was arrested and subsequently released on bail, while two other individuals detained in connection with the case were released without charge.
