A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following a fatal hit-and-run incident in Pleasley, Derbyshire, where 25-year-old Alana Armstrong tragically lost her life. The incident occurred on the evening of 26 November when a 4×4 vehicle pursued and struck an e-bike carrying Ms. Armstrong and a male rider. While Ms. Armstrong succumbed to her injuries at the scene, the rider, a man in his 20s, was hospitalized and underwent surgery resulting in the amputation of his leg below the knee.
Derbyshire Police apprehended the suspect in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, early on Tuesday. Previously, a woman in her 30s was arrested and subsequently released on bail, while two other individuals detained in connection with the case were released without charge.
