Tema, March 28, 2025 – Twelve Chinese nationals and a Ghanaian have been arrested by National Security operatives in connection with the missing Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) containers at the Tema Port.
Details of the Arrest
🔴 The suspects are linked to two aluminum smelting companies located in Shai Hills.
🔴 They were arrested on Thursday during an intelligence-led operation.
🔴 Cables believed to be part of the missing consignment were traced to an aluminum smelter opposite the Shai Hills Game Reserve.
🔴 These cables were reportedly being melted into aluminum bars for export.
Ongoing Investigation
🕵️♂️ National Security operatives are currently on a manhunt for another Chinese national who is on the run.
The discovery of the missing ECG containers at the Tema Port has raised concerns over potential industrial theft and sabotage, prompting swift action from authorities.
